A businessman tries to break through a line of Occupy Wall Street protesters who had blocked access to the New York Stock Exchange.

This is my favorite one so far because it sums up the movement in one image.
This middle-aged white guy in a suit is literally FORCING himself through a wall of people to get to work and make money for the richest people in our country.

Your days of playing Red Rover in kindergarten were not wasted, y’all.

ok
look.
I’m not a fan of wealth inequality at all.
But this guy is literally just trying to get to work!
He may have a family he needs to care for, and we have no way of knowing how rich he actually is or whether he’s really “making money for the richest people in our country”. Working in the NYSE is not a guarantee that you are rich. Simply wearing a suit and working in a particular place does not make him the villain.
You don’t know this guy, you don’t know the circumstances he lives in. How would you react if someone made a human chain outside your place of work and tried to bar you from entering?
Chances are you wouldn’t just smile nicely and politely consider their points. You’d want to get to work to provide for yourself and the people you love. Yes, maybe he should have reacted nicer, but for all we know he tried that and it didn’t work. You don’t know anything about him and his circumstances.
The protesters are being assholes in this case, plain and simple.

preach.
